Technology and Composition

Technology influences every composition classroom. I’m interested in the ways teachers and scholars reckon with digital technologies. It’s important to continuously investigate the possibilities for available and emerging technologies to address core issues in composition studies. These technologies inevitably affect what those core issues are.

This blog is a record of my reflections on readings toward my Specialized Research Area (SRA) exam in the Fall of 2008. I am interested in the presence of digital technology in the composition classroom. While scholars are producing excellent work on issues of access and innovative pedagogical practices, there is still much work to be done towards developing a more robust critical vocabulary for digital composition.
